Congratulates Deborah Ann Simental on her retirement from the Illinois State Police effective September 30, 2016.

Simental graduated from Cadet Class 88 in 1990 and served in District 3/Chicago, the Operational Services Command, and the Statewide Criminal Conspiracy Unit.

Promoted through the ranks from Special Agent (1996) to Sergeant (1998), Master Sergeant (2000), Lieutenant (2007), Captain (2011), and Colonel (2014), serving as Division of Internal Investigation's Northern Commander.

Held membership in the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, International Association of Chiefs of Police, National Association of Women in Law Enforcement, Illinois Homicide Investigations Association, and South Suburban Chiefs of Police.

Contributed to events for the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation and Special Olympics; earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Science degree in 1988 and has two children.
