Recognizes the 27th Annual Black & Gold Scholarship Gala presented by the Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation, the not-for-profit entity of the Theta Mu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.

Acknowledges the gala's purpose of raising funds to provide educational resources and scholarships for young African American students to expand their scholastic opportunities.

Notes the 2016 program theme is "Celebrating Service, Awareness, and Leadership," with Impact Awards given to four community leaders and Rising Star Awards given to four young people.

The gala was scheduled for November 12, 2016 at the Tinley Park Convention Center.

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to the Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation as an expression of esteem and respect.
