Congratulates Marrs-Meyer American Legion Post 991 in Worth on its 70th anniversary, chartered on July 15, 1946.

Post was named after Corporal Raymond Marrs (Company "E" of the 415th Railroad Battalion, World War I) and Private Walter A. Meyer (361st Infantry Regiment, World War II), both deceased citizens of Worth.

Women's Auxiliary, chartered January 25, 1947, has over 100 members who visit veterans at nursing homes and hospitals, and distribute food baskets to needy families for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Main post has over 300 regular members and associate members who support veterans and contribute to local youth organizations and needy individuals and families.

Jon Harn, Commander from 1987 to 1999, was instrumental in creating the new American Legion building that opened March 18, 1995.
