Served as Crestwood Village Clerk (1965), Worth Township Clerk (1977-1989), Worth Township Supervisor (1989-1997), and Cook County Board 6th District Commissioner (2002 onward) where she chaired the labor committee

First woman elected to public office in Crestwood and first woman elected as Worth Township Clerk and Supervisor

Served as Democratic National Convention delegate and cast a superdelegate vote for Hillary Clinton in July 2016
