Recognizes Lamar Houston for 65 years of residence in Southern Illinois and his service to Alexander County residents.

Honors Houston's 40 years of service as a Lineman and Utility Serviceman at Southern Illinois Electric Co-Op before retiring in 2013.

Acknowledges his service on multiple boards including the Shawnee College Foundation Board, Alexander County Board, Egyptian School Board (serving as President for eight years), and Village of Tamms Board, as well as his role as interim Mayor of Tamms.

Commends his volunteer contributions including coaching softball, refereeing basketball, mowing lawns for elderly residents without pay, and mentoring youth.

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to Houston as an expression of esteem and respect.
