IL SB0024

Amends the Board of Higher Education Act by making a technical change to Section 2 concerning the creation of the Board of Higher Education.

Removes a redundant instance of the word "the" in the section describing the 10 members appointed by the Governor with Senate advice and consent.

Maintains the Board composition of 16 members including 10 gubernatorial appointees (with Senate consent), one public university governing board member, one private college board member, the Illinois Community College Board chairman, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission chairman, and 2 student members.

Continues the requirement that one of the 10 gubernatorial appointees (effective July 1, 2005) must be a faculty member at an Illinois public university.
