Amends the Attorneys Lien Act (770 ILCS 5/1) to make a technical change regarding the creation of liens by attorneys.

Corrects grammatical language in Section 1 by removing a duplicate word "and" in the statute's opening provision about attorney liens on claims and causes of action.

Attorneys retain liens on claims, demands, and causes of action placed in their hands by clients for suit or collection, for agreed-upon fees or reasonable fees plus costs and expenses.

Limits total attorney liens to 30% of the sum paid or due to an injured person when health care services liens meet or exceed 40% of that sum, with attorneys sharing proportionate amounts within this cap.

Attorney liens are not affected or limited by the provisions of this Act if an appeal is taken by any party to a suit based on the claim or cause of action.
