SB1301 Summary

• Amends the Charter Schools Law to require all State Board of Education payments to charter schools be prorated and paid at the same percentage as general State aid payments to school districts in each fiscal year.

• Requires all local school board payments to charter schools be prorated and paid at the same percentage as general State aid payments to school districts in that fiscal year.

• Adds clarification that charter school funding calculations prior to any proration shall not be less than 75% or more than 125% of the school district's per capita student tuition multiplied by the number of students enrolled in the charter school.

• Modifies Section 27A-11 to change conditional language from "However, if" to "If" regarding charter school dismissals and the return of prorated public funding to school districts.
