IL SB1483

Amends the Counties Code, Township Code, Illinois Municipal Code, and Fire Protection District Act to require nongovernmental entities contracted to provide fire protection services to conspicuously display contractor identification on vehicles and uniforms if they display a government logo.

Required disclosure must include a statement indicating the entity is a contractor (such as "SERVICE PROVIDED BY:" or "CONTRACTED BY:"), the contractor's name, state or federal tax designation, and principal place of business.

Disclosure must be displayed at the same size as and located close to the largest government logo on each vehicle or uniform.

Violators are guilty of a business offense subject to a $1,000 fine per occurrence, with circuit courts in the violation county having enforcement jurisdiction.

Home rule units are prohibited from regulating in a manner inconsistent with these requirements, and the Act takes effect upon becoming law.
