IL SB1622

Amends the Line of Duty Compensation Act to expand the definition of "law enforcement officer" to include court security officers.

Court security officers employed by the State or local governmental entities are now eligible for line of duty compensation benefits.

Maintains existing requirements that deaths must result from injuries received in active performance of duties involving enforcement of law and protection of the public interest at risk of life.

Applies the same standards for determining "killed in the line of duty" to court security officers as apply to other law enforcement personnel.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
