IL SB1632

Amends the Criminal Code of 2012 to expand the definition of unlawful use of false academic degrees under Section 17-8.3.

Makes it illegal to knowingly use a false academic degree or an academic degree issued under false pretenses for employment, admission to higher education institutions, admission to advanced degree programs, or obtaining job promotions or higher compensation.

Establishes the offense as a Class A misdemeanor.

Maintains existing prohibition against providing false information on employment applications with public or private agencies providing State-funded services for persons with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
