State Superintendent of Education shall establish a virtual education review committee to examine virtual education and course choice programs, including online coursework access and technology requirements.

Committee shall consist of 15 members appointed by the State Superintendent, including representatives from the State Board of Education (as chair), parents, educators, school administrators, principals, board members, special education administrators, education advocacy groups, higher education institutions, and virtual schools.

Committee shall also include 4 legislative members: one Senator appointed by the President of the Senate, one by the Minority Leader, one Representative appointed by the Speaker, and one by the House Minority Leader.

Committee must meet at least 4 times to review virtual education programs, discuss course access and technology access, and determine funding mechanisms and cost projections for administering course access programs.

Committee shall report findings and recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly by May 31, 2016, and the committee is dissolved upon filing its report; the entire section is repealed June 1, 2016.
