IL SB1818

Limits University of Illinois honorary scholarships for children of veterans to a maximum of 3 scholarships per county annually, down from one per period of hostilities.

Expands eligible military service periods to include the siege of Beirut and Grenada Conflict (June 14, 1982 - December 15, 1983).

Maintains preference for scholarships to children of deceased or disabled service members.

Preserves existing scholarship requirements including public examination, good moral character, minimum age of 15, and tuition-free instruction for at least 4 consecutive years.

Takes effect July 1, 2015.
