IL SB1841

Amends the Board of Higher Education Act by making a technical change to Section 2 concerning the creation and composition of the Board.

Removes redundant language by eliminating one instance of "the" before "Governor" in the section describing the appointment of 10 board members by the Governor with Senate advice and consent.

Board of Higher Education composition remains at 16 members consisting of 10 Governor-appointed members with Senate confirmation, one public university governing board member, one private college/university board member, the chairman of the Illinois Community College Board, the chairman of the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, and 2 student members.

Maintains requirement that one of the student members must be a non-traditional undergraduate student at least 24 years old who is employed or a parent.

Maintains requirement that beginning July 1, 2005, one of the 10 Governor-appointed members must be a faculty member at an Illinois public university.
