IL SB1846

Establishes the Endangered Missing Person Advisory program within the Department of State Police to rapidly disseminate information about high-risk missing persons.

Creates the Silver Search program and Task Force to develop a statewide awareness program and toolkit for missing persons age 21 and older with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or related cognitive impairment, with deployment required by July 1, 2017.

Requires the Silver Search Task Force to include representatives from 18 specified state agencies and organizations and to provide annual reports to the General Assembly and Governor by June 30.

Directs the Department of Transportation to coordinate with State Police to use electronic message signs on roads and highways to provide critical information about high-risk missing persons and those with Alzheimer's or dementia.

Requires the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board to adopt written protocols and guidelines for handling missing persons cases involving Alzheimer's disease or related dementia by July 1, 2016, and conduct training programs for law enforcement personnel.
