SB1867 Summary

• Increases solicitation of a sexual act from a person in a Department of Children and Family Services licensed child care facility from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class 4 felony, regardless of the person's age or intellectual disability status.

• Enhances penalties for promoting prostitution, promoting juvenile prostitution, and patronizing a minor engaged in prostitution when committed within 1,000 feet of a DCFS licensed child care institution or group home (Class 3 or Class 2 felonies depending on the offense).

• Adds new Class 2 felony penalty for promoting prostitution when the victim is over 18 years old but was residing in a DCFS licensed child care institution or group home during the commission of the offense.

• Upgrades penalty for patronizing a minor engaged in prostitution within 1,000 feet of a DCFS licensed child care facility from Class 3 to Class 2 felony.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
