IL SB2206

Removes language that exempts school districts with populations exceeding 500,000 inhabitants from the Block Grants Article of the School Code.

Repeals Article 1D of the School Code, which established the Block Grants for Chicago program.

Eliminates exemptions from special education funding requirements that previously applied to large urban school districts under the block grant system.

Modifies Section 14-7.02b to remove language exempting certain amounts from block grant requirements and Section 14-7.05 to remove block grant-specific provisions for residential facility placements.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
