IL SB2263

Extends the validity period of identification cards issued by the Department of Corrections to released persons from 30 calendar days to 90 calendar days from the date of issuance.

Applies to identification cards issued upon release on parole, mandatory supervised release, final discharge, pardon, or to wrongfully imprisoned persons.

Requires the Department to establish criteria that released persons must meet to receive the identification card, with a $1 fee required for issuance.

Maintains that the Department shall not be held civilly or criminally liable for actions taken by any person utilizing the issued identification card.
