IL SB2402

Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971 to expand the definition of "employee" to include persons who received a distribution of vested amounts under the State Universities Retirement System (SURS) self-managed plan while eligible to retire, but are otherwise ineligible to participate in SURS.

Allows these individuals to maintain group insurance coverage eligibility despite their ineligibility for SURS participation due to taking the vested distribution.

Effective immediately upon becoming law.
