IL SB2405

Amends the Higher Education Student Assistance Act by modifying Section 35 regarding the Monetary Award Program (MAP).

Prohibits the Illinois Student Assistance Commission from making grants to applicants enrolled at for-profit institutions, effective July 1, 2017.

Removes previous provisions that allowed for-profit institution eligibility under specified conditions (limited to first-time freshmen and transfer students with associate degrees in earlier years, then expanded to all eligible students by 1999).

Maintains all other MAP eligibility requirements for applicants at non-profit institutions, including residency, citizenship, and financial need criteria.
