IL SB2410

Creates a Youth Trapping License for Illinois residents age 18 and under, renewable annually and expiring March 31, with a $7 fee separate from other hunting/trapping fees.

Allows youth with a Youth Trapping License to trap only while supervised by a parent, grandparent, or guardian age 21 or older who holds a valid Illinois trapping license.

Requires youth age 19 or those choosing to trap independently to successfully complete a Department-approved trapper safety course before obtaining a full trapping license.

Modifies trapping license requirements to apply to persons born on or after January 1, 1998 who must present a certificate of competency from an approved trapping course unless they previously held a valid trapping license.

Department shall not require hunting or trapping education certificates as a condition for Youth Hunting or Youth Trapping Licenses.
