IL SB2430

Amends the Illinois Highway Code to require the Department of Transportation to comply with its IDOT ADA transition plan during construction, reconstruction, or resurfacing projects affecting bicycle or pedestrian ways.

Adds new subsection (e) to Section 4-220 mandating Department compliance with the IDOT ADA transition plan when executing bicycle and pedestrian way projects.

Modifies Section 4-405 to require the Department to comply with its IDOT ADA transition plan regarding bicycle and pedestrian ways during maintenance work, resurfacing, or reconstruction of State highways.

Applies to all projects covered under Section 4-220, including those in or within one mile of urban areas where bicycle and pedestrian ways must be established with transportation facility changes.
