IL SB2505

Requires all Illinois public universities and community colleges to accept Advanced Placement exam scores of 3, 4, and 5 for course credit beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year.

Extends the requirement to International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject scores of 4 or higher beginning with the 2017-2018 academic year.

Allows each institution of higher education to determine whether credit applies toward electives, general education requirements, or major requirements on a subject-by-subject basis.

Requires the Board of Higher Education and Illinois Community College Board to analyze credit-granting policies and submit a report with findings and recommendations to the General Assembly and Governor by the conclusion of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Mandates institutions publish their updated credit-granting policies on their websites before the 2017-2018 academic year begins.
