Courts must inquire in open court whether parents, guardians, custodians, or responsible relatives have provided the Department of Children and Family Services with all known names, addresses, and telephone numbers of the minor's living maternal and paternal adult relatives, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings.

Courts must advise parents, guardians, custodians, or responsible relatives to inform the Department if additional information regarding the minor's adult relatives becomes available.

These inquiries and advisories occur when a child is placed in temporary custody of the Department of Children and Family Services for protection purposes.
