SB2785 - Small Wireless Facilities Deployment Act

• Prohibits local authorities (cities, villages, townships, counties) from prohibiting or regulating the collocation of small wireless facilities and small facility networks.

• Designates small wireless facilities and small facility networks as permitted uses in all zoning districts throughout local jurisdictions.

• Allows authorities to require building, electrical, and public way use permits on a nondiscriminatory basis equivalent to other construction, with applications deemed approved if not addressed within 30 days.

• Prohibits application fees exceeding those charged to other telecommunications providers and bans all fees for collocations on public streets, roads, highways, or rights of way.

• Caps charges for collocating facilities on authority-owned or controlled structures at the lesser of: standard commercial rates, projected authority costs, or $1,000 annually.
