IL SB2871

Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 to add social media conditions to pre-trial orders for minors charged with delinquent acts.

Court may require minors to provide the court, probation department, and law enforcement access to all social media accounts on social networking websites.

Court may order minors to refrain from using any social media account and to remove photographs or depictions of firearms or dangerous weapons from those accounts.

These social media conditions may be imposed during any pre-trial hearing and can continue through sentencing if the court deems it reasonable and necessary.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
