IL SB2987

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to allow vehicles using natural gas or propane gas as motor fuel to exceed gross weight limitations by 2,000 pounds on any road except highways or structures with posted weight limits.

Removes the previous prohibition that prevented such weight exemptions on interstate highways, making the 2,000-pound allowance applicable to all roads except those with posted weight restrictions.

Clarifies that vehicles cannot exceed any posted weight limit on a highway or structure, even with the 2,000-pound exemption for natural gas or propane-powered vehicles.
