SB3010 Summary

• Renames the "Illinois Workforce Investment Board" to the "Illinois Workforce Innovation Board" and updates all references to reflect the shift from the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 to the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

• Modifies the Open Meetings Act to allow certain large public bodies (statewide jurisdiction, library systems, transit districts, and workforce investment areas over 4,500 square miles) to hold meetings at multiple locations via interactive video conference with members physically present at each location counting toward a quorum.

• Updates the State Rehabilitation Council membership to include a representative of the State Workforce Innovation Board and adjusts composition requirements to align with federal rehabilitation and workforce development standards.

• Changes references throughout Illinois statutes from "Workforce Investment Act" to "Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act" in workforce development, unemployment insurance, student assistance, and public aid programs.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
