Representative of each approved adult education provider is required to participate on Area Planning Councils established within community college district boundaries.

Area Planning Council membership may include regional superintendents, school district representatives, community college staff from career/technical education, financial aid, and student services, local workforce board representatives, and persons with interest in adult education services.

Area Planning Council chairperson must be a representative of an approved adult education provider, and councils must elect officers and develop bylaws as determined by the Board.

Area Adult Education Plans must be submitted by March 1 each year and must align with federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Title II, State Unified Plan, and local workforce board activities.

Board must submit annual report to Governor and General Assembly by March 1 including student enrollment, federal workforce activities, high school equivalency information, performance data, program allocations, and State reimbursement details for various adult education programs.
