IL SB3264

Amends the Illinois Hunting Heritage Protection Act to require the Director of Natural Resources to submit a written annual report to the General Assembly by October 1 each year.

Report must describe acreage administered by the Department closed to recreational hunting during the previous year and reasons for the closures.

Report must include acreage opened to recreational hunting to compensate for closures and maintain no net loss of hunting habitat on Department-managed lands.

Report must outline the Department's plan to maximize opportunities for recreational hunting on Department-managed lands.

Department-managed lands remain open to recreational hunting except as limited by the Department for public safety, fish or wildlife management, homeland security, or other legal restrictions.
