IL SB3305

Requires all Illinois public universities (University of Illinois, Southern Illinois University, Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State University, Illinois State University, Northeastern Illinois University, Northern Illinois University, and Western Illinois University) to accept military courses for transferable credit.

Requires all Illinois community college districts to accept military courses for transferable credit.

Military courses eligible for credit must be listed on a Joint Services Transcript, completed by a service member or veteran, and evaluated by the American Council on Education for subject areas, semester hours, and credit level.

Applies to active service members and veterans who received an honorable discharge, general discharge, or other than honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, or Coast Guard.

Credit must be accepted only if the military course subject areas are equivalent to coursework offered by the institution.
