Designates the third Saturday of August in 2015 as "Spirit of '45 Day" in Illinois to commemorate the end of World War II on August 14, 1945.

Encourages Illinois citizens to remember those who served in uniform and those who supported them on the home front during World War II.

Honors the more than 400,000 Americans who gave their lives in service during World War II and recognizes the national effort that defeated aggression and ended the Holocaust.

Acknowledges the post-war rebuilding efforts led by the United States and the formation of organizations that strengthened American democracy through civic engagement and volunteerism.

Recognizes the World War II generation's model of national unity and community as inspiration for current and future generations.
