IL SR1941

Directs the Directors of Children and Family Services and Public Health to submit a joint report by January 1, 2017, evaluating the transfer of child death review team administration from DCFS to the Department of Public Health.

Requires the Directors to consult with experts and stakeholders including pediatricians, child fatality specialists, forensic pathologists, members of child death review teams, Cook County Public Guardian, State's Attorneys, and law enforcement.

Authorizes the Directors to conduct public hearings to gather additional information from the public.

Mandates the report include a recommendation on transferring administration of child death review teams, proposed transition plan, recommendations on programmatic changes, and draft legislation to implement recommendations.

Requires copies of the resolution be delivered to the Director of Children and Family Services and the Director of Public Health.
