Edwin George Kolk of Fulton died on May 31, 2016, and the Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and friends.

Kolk was born October 27, 1934, graduated from Fulton High School in 1952, served in the U.S. Army as a medical lab technician in Stuttgart, Germany, and worked in laboratory research at Clinton Corn Processing Company and Archer Daniels Midland until his 1999 retirement.

He married Nancy Kamphuis on May 31, 1957, and co-owned River Huis Traders Antiques in downtown Fulton; he and his wife traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe.

Kolk was an active community member serving on boards for the Community Fund, Fulton Chamber of Commerce, Fulton Retail Development, and Fulton Zoning, and was a volunteer miller at the "de Immigrant" windmill in Fulton since 2000.

He is survived by daughters Gina Kolk and Heidi Kolk, three grandchildren, an AFS daughter, and multiple nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, his parents, and his brother Robert John Kolk.
