Illinois Senate expresses condolences for the death of Michael A. Markell of Rock Island, who passed away on May 27, 2016.

Michael Markell was born December 29, 1950 in Ottumwa, Iowa, and married Mynda Thorpe on August 24, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era and worked at Alcoa for 28 years before retiring in 2003.

Was a member of the Rock Island GROWTH board and United Steel Workers Local 105, and served as president of the Greenbush Neighbors.

A suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to his family as an expression of sympathy.
