Served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and worked at Eagle Signal for 29 years and Rock Island Arsenal for five years before retiring in 1990.

Married Margurite "Marge" Hinrichsen on December 27, 1952, and traveled extensively with his wife, enjoying square dancing, bridge, and spending winters in southern Texas for 21 years.

Survived by his wife Margurite, four children (David and Pam Ross and Cathy and Chip Lee), four grandchildren, his sister Nancy Polios, and several nieces and nephews.

Directs the Illinois Senate to present a copy of this resolution to the Ross family as an expression of sympathy.
