Richard F. Gallens of Moline died on June 8, 2016, at age 87 after being born May 31, 1929 to Camiel and Helen Erickson Gallens.

Attended Moline High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War; married Greta Miles in Moline on July 16, 1955.

Worked in the experimental department at Deere & Co. for 38 years before retiring in 1987; was a skilled machinist.

Survived by wife Greta, daughter Diana (Tim) Krakovec, son David (Dawn) Gallens, and grandchildren Kristen, Nick, Heather, Allison, and Shawn.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to the family and directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to Gallens' family.
