Roger A. Schumacher of rural Erie passed away on June 13, 2016, at age 85.

Served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, stationed in France.

Worked as a lifelong farmer and spent 30 years employed at International Harvester.

Enjoyed building and flying airplanes as a member of the Erie Air Park, and spent leisure time fishing and boating on the river.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his surviving family: daughter Janice Graszer, brother Dallas Schumacher, grandchildren, and great-grandson.
