Beth M. Shannon of Geneva passed away on June 12, 2016; she was born February 5, 1962 in Antigo, Wisconsin to Francis and Donna Gilson and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Shannon was a longtime 5th grade teacher at Western Avenue School in Geneva who was passionate about teaching.

Shannon is survived by her husband Dan of 28 years, children Eryn and Bret, parents, and numerous siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

The Illinois Senate mourns Shannon's passing and extends condolences to her family and friends.

A suitable copy of this resolution shall be presented to the Shannon family as an expression of sympathy.
