Honors Muriel Claire Kotchever Schnierow, who died on April 24, 2016, at age 88.

Recognizes her 20-year career as a real estate broker in Oak Park and her distinction as the first woman to sell commercial real estate in that community.

Acknowledges her accomplishments as an accomplished singer and pianist who performed with the Oak Park River Forest Symphony Chorus and mentored young musicians through the Nineteenth Century Club.

Commemorates her later-life political activism supporting Democratic causes, including campaigns for Barack Obama (2008, 2012), Bernie Sanders, and Charles Schumer, with focus on combating domestic violence and child abuse.

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to her surviving family: daughter Nancy, son Neil, stepdaughters Laurie and Beth, grandchildren Dean and Niko, and cousin Gloria.
