Lucille "Lucy" Madsen passed away on June 5, 2016, and was born January 29, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York to parents William and Helen Martell.

Taught elementary school in Schiller Park after graduating from Lake Forest College and obtained a Certificate in Pastoral Ministry from Dominican University, serving as a chaplain at several hospitals.

Volunteered extensively at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church in roles including Religious Education, Bereavement Minister, Bible Study leader, and hospital Eucharistic minister, and assisted with English as a Second Language programs.

Survived by her husband Robert Madsen (married 48 years), four children, five grandchildren, one sister, and multiple sisters and brothers-in-law.

Illinois Senate recognizes and mourns her passing, directing that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family.
