Born February 7, 1932 in Travis County, Texas to parents Ananias and Viola Houston; married Mary Susan Schmitt on January 26, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hebron; preceded in death by daughter Renee.

Survived by wife Mary Susan, daughters Denise, Leslie, Lauren, and Lonnie, nine grandchildren (William, Garrett, Precious, Jessica, Marty, Johnathan, Tony, Jackson, and Jordan), and four great-grandchildren.

Illinois Senate expresses sympathy to Houston's family and directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to them.
