Illinois Senate mourns the death of Howard Ray "Rosie" Holladay Sr. of East Moline, who passed away on May 18, 2016

Holladay was born September 16, 1925 in Conesville, Iowa and served in the United States Marines from June 1943, including over two years with the Second Marine Division in the South Pacific during World War II and three months stationed in Nagasaki, Japan following the atomic bomb

Holladay was honorably discharged as a Corporal in January 1946, worked as a heavy equipment operator with Rock Island Local 537, and was a past master of Norwood Ancient Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 622 and member of American Legion Post 27 and VFW Post

Holladay is survived by four children, four stepdaughters, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren

Senate directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Holladay family as an expression of sympathy
