Senate Resolution mourning the death of Richard G. Nelson of Colona, who passed away on April 9, 2016.

Richard Nelson was born May 22, 1925 to Oscar and Lillie M. Heflin Nelson; served in the United States Navy in the Pacific during World War II; and married Dorothy Daniels on January 31, 1953.

Worked 35 years as an inspector for John Deere Harvester and was a member of Green River United Methodist Church, former Lions Club President of Colona, and former 4th Ward alderman in Colona.

Richard Nelson is survived by his wife Dorothy of 63 years, four children (Diane Baird, Dayle Sullivan, Dawn Jatczak, and Daniel Nelson), five grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and siblings.

Illinois Senate extends sincere condolences to Richard Nelson's family, friends, and all who knew him.
