Gordon L. Ellis of Erie passed away on August 16, 2016, and the Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and friends.

Gordon Ellis was born February 7, 1930, in Goshen, Indiana, served in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1952, and retired from Consolidated Freightways as a truck driver in 1991.

He married Marjorie Plumley on March 22, 1957, and enjoyed model trains, gardening, spending time with family, and playing cribbage.

Gordon Ellis is survived by his wife Marjorie, four children, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A suitable copy of this resolution shall be presented to the Ellis family as an expression of sympathy from the Illinois Senate.
