Frank E. Hewitt of Peoria died on August 15, 2016; he was born February 1, 1939, to Frank and Nancy (Embree) Hewitt.

Graduated from Peoria Central High School in 1957; earned Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University and Master of Science in Engineering Management from Bradley University.

Served as City Engineer for the City of Peoria for 42 years, retiring in 2008; also served as President of the Board of Local Improvements.

Was an avid Bradley basketball fan and active in dog shows, breeding and showing St. Bernards while serving as President of the St. Bernard Club of Greater St. Louis.

Survived by wife Cathy (married October 7, 1977), children Lisa, David, Caryn, and Kyle, and grandchildren Skylar and Cohlson; Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and friends.
