Louis Turilli of East Moline died on August 26, 2016, at age 101 after being born July 3, 1915 in Chicago to parents Baccio and Eugenia Turilli.

Served in the United States Army from September 1942 through March 31, 1946, including combat as a 2nd Lieutenant and Artillery Forward Observer in the Pacific theater during World War II, earning the Bronze Star Medal.

Worked as a civilian employee for the U.S. Department of the Army from February 1952 until retiring as a Contracting Officer in September 1976, later working as a self-employed Marketing Consultant until September 1995.

Was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the 27th Infantry Association, American Legion, AARP, and multiple historical and veterans organizations.

Survived by three sons (Louis, Larry, and James), seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; the Illinois Senate expresses sympathy to his family.
