Helen Levin passed away on August 19, 2016, at age 103 after a lifetime of community service in Champaign.

Served in leadership roles with the League of Women Voters (local and State president, national treasurer), Community Foundation (founder and vice president), United Way (founder and board member), and Champaign-Urbana Jewish Federation (president).

Also held positions with Sinai Temple, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Parkland College Foundation, Krannert Art Museum Council (president), and Blackburn College Board of Trustees.

Received the Champaign Chamber of Commerce's Most Valuable Citizen Award in 1992 and was known as a painter and fiber artist who helped design her family home with prominent Chicago architect George Frederick Keck in 1950.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to her surviving daughters, Dr. Susan Levin Dillbeck and Dr. Emily Levin, and acknowledges her passing.
