William Patrick "Bill" Myers of Champaign passed away on September 30, 2016, at age 86.

Founded Franchise Management Systems in 1966 as an Arby's franchisee, expanding to operate 16 Arby's locations, three G.D. Ritzy's, three Daddy-O's, and two other restaurants across Illinois and Iowa.

Established the William P. Myers Education Fund in 1981 to assist Cunningham Children's Home youths with education and job training, and made major philanthropic contributions to Special Olympics, drug treatment centers, food banks, and community colleges.

Survived by his wife Adele, two children, four stepchildren, and seven grandchildren.

Illinois Senate expresses sympathy and mourning for Myers' passing.
