Robert Thompson passed away on September 25, 2016; he was born on October 16, 1938 in Danville to Carl and Ethel Thompson, and married Roberta Berry on December 22, 1962 in Georgetown.

Served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Danville American Legion, Danville Veterans of Foreign Wars, USS Lexington Museum, and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Enjoyed antique cars, Chicago Cubs and White Sox, gardening, fishing, and playing cards.

Survived by his wife Roberta, three adult children (Michael, Bob Jr., and Janet), sister Sharon Bly, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences and will present a suitable copy of this resolution to Robert Thompson's family.
